Who doesn’t drink coffee nowadays? 80% of the world’s population drinks coffee and of that percentage, 3 out of 10 are coffee lovers. Coffee drinkers drink coffee to boost or start their day. Coffee lovers on the other hand, drink their coffee enjoying the full flavor of it and are not limited to one cup.

Coffee actually has different or distinct flavor and aroma depending on its origin and varietal or variety. Coffee is grown in the equatorial region or the tropic of Capricorn, which means coffee, grows in tropical countries. Tropical countries in South America produce coffee with a different flavor and aroma compared with coffee from Africa and Asia.

These differences play a vital role in determining which coffee you prefer for espresso and which one better suite your taste for latte. That being said, the process the coffee goes through after harvesting and the method of roasting also adds and brings out the full flavor. It is advisable that you get to know how the coffee beans you use are roasted, be it light, medium light, medium, medium dark or dark.

South American countries produce coffee that is somewhat bright acidic and full bodied. The taste mostly resembles roasted nuts or dark chocolate. Personally, my favorite beans from this region are from El Salvador and Panama due to their crisp acidity and balanced body.

In Africa, they produce these sweet fruity and floral notes and sometimes mixed with chocolaty aftertaste. Most coffee lovers tend to favor these beans.

Asian countries produce heavy bodied coffee that you could refer to as tobacco, volcanic, true bark and roots. These coffee beans are products of low altitude plantations.

Knowing the coffee you are drinking makes a huge difference. So now, which coffee are you interested in?
